James F. Brashear is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Conifer Health Solutions, which provides performance improvement and health management solutions to hospitals, health systems, integrated delivery networks, physician groups, self-insured organizations, and health plans.

Mr. Brashear is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, the California Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. He served as national director of The Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals and as the Society’s 2013 National Conference Chair. He served as Co-Chair of the Programs and Cloud Computing subcommittees of the Information Technology, Privacy and Electronic Commerce Committee of the Association of Corporate Counsel. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).

Mr. Brashear previously was: General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of email security provider Zix Corporation; a corporate securities partner at Haynes and Boone; a Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Governance Officer at the global travel commerce company Sabre Holdings Corporation; a senior attorney at AMR Corporation’s subsidiary American Airlines, Inc.; and an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and O’Melveny & Myers.

Mr. Brashear received a Juris Doctorate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he served as executive editor of the law review. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of California at San Diego.

Mr. Brashear has legal experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, technology, cloud computing, corporate governance, corporate securities, aviation and travel industry law, mergers and acquisitions, contract drafting and international transactional matters.
